KATHAK PERFORMANCE FEATURED IN INEXT NEWSPAPER, ALLAHABAD, INDIA

 On Saturday, Kathak Kendra, located on circular road, hosted the performance of Canadian Kathak artist, Anita Pandey, who captivated the moment with a Kathak presentation that enticed everyone's hearts.  Through the medium of Kathak's attractive mannerisms and emotions, she paid homage to the country's martyrs.  After this, she filled the viewers with emotion with an emotion filled presentation of "Vishnu Vandana" and "Vande Maataram."  She presented Kathak's classical side as well as rhytmic tihaiyan in a completely new style.  Vijay Chandra won the audience's hearts by playing Raag Puriya Danashree and Raag Bhairavi on the synthesizer.  Kathak Kendra director, Urmila Sharma, honored Anita Pandey with a bouqet.

"Enticing was Anita's Kathak Presentation"

Upon Allahabad Kathak Kendra's invitation, Anita Pandey, a Canadian Kathak artist of Indian origin, awed audiences with Kathak compositions of great variety.  After "Vande Maataram," a patriotic song, and "Vishnu Vandana," she presented tihais in a new style.  She presented the nuances of Kathak in a jugalbandi.  Well known artist, Vijay Chandra, presented tunes in Raag Puriya Dhanashree and Raag Bhairavi on the synthesizer and was rewarded with much applause.  Anup Banerjee provided accompaniment on the tabla.  Director of Kathak Kendra, Urmila Sharma, along with Anita Pandey, expressed her gratitude toward all the featured artists.
