A Few of my Performances ...

MY FIRST GROUP PERFORMANCE!

GURU VANDANA

This piece pays homage to "the teacher" or "the guru." It says, the guru is Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, and the entire universe itself. Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (or Shiva) are the Holy Trinity in Hinduism. Brahma is the creator, Vishnu is the preserver, and Shiva is the destroyer. Dancers: Anita Pandey, Kevin Rughoo, Supriya Tandan Thank you to my friend for filming this in HD!

**PLEASE EXCUSE THE INTERRUPTIONS! THIS IS RECOVERED FOOTAGE, HENCE THE BLIPS HERE AND THERE. SORRY!**

RAAG BHAIRAV - ANITA PANDEY

This beautiful Raag was taught to me by my Guru Ji, Pandit Prem Kumar Mallick, in Allahabad, India. The bandish is "Jago Mohan Pyare." It is about gently waking up Lord Krishna when he was a child and cowherd. "Wake up sweet Krishna. Your beautiful face overwhelms my heart. The other cowherds are waiting for you. They are hungry and thirsty for your presence. Wake up my beautiful Krishna." Chinmay Kulkarni on Tabla (Note his amazing solo!)
